How Silent Gliss tracks are made

Silent Gliss 5100 Autogilde and Silent Gliss 5600 Electrically Operated tracks.

Silent Gliss came up with the ingenious idea of using nylon gliders and siliconised aluminium tracks to make the world's first silent hand drawn curtain tracks in the 1950s. This initial invention led to many others, one of which was the introduction of their electrical curtain tracks more than 40 years ago.  

Silent Gliss now to offer a range of electrically operated solutions for single tracks and multiple tracks and integration into building management systems and home automation systems.  

Today their electric tracks are found all over the world, guaranteeing smooth, trouble-free operation.  

Why choose Silent Gliss electrically operated tracks

Motorisation is becoming, especially in commercial buildings but also in private homes, more and more popular.  The Silent Gliss motorised range of tracks and poles provides a solution for all individual and technical requirements.

Electrically operated tracks are ideal for very wide (up to 10m) or high curtains or curtains that are out of reach.  In your home they offer the ultimate in luxury, operation can be via switch, remote control or light sensor.  The motor hangs down neatly behind the curtains and cannot be seen when the curtains are open or closed.

Making the decision about which electric track to buy can be confusing, with this in mind we have put together the following table to enable you to compare the features of  our electric tracks:

In addition to the above the 6150M Metropole (50mm diameter) cleverly fuses the elegance of a pole with the functionality of Silent Gliss electric tracks.  There are 2 electric track options (system 5100 and 5600) to suit light to medium weight curtains; offering the same multitude of control options including wall switch, timer and remote control listed above. The 6150M system is available in a greater range of colours silver, white, black, steel grey, antique bronze and taupe but unfortunately it cannot be bent.

Can I add accessories to my track/pole

All electric tracks and poles are compatible with the wave curtain heading system wave-heading-system.html.

All of our electric curtain tracks with the exception of the 6150M 50mm diameter curtain pole can be bent to fit curved or bay windows. 

Make your electrically operated Metropole blend in with its surroundings or stand out with the use of stylish brackets and finials.  

Finial - an accessory that completes the finished look of the end of the Metropole.

Unfortunately finials are not available for system 5100 and 5600.
